Pastor

Pastor Charles Tyler, Sr. attended Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina.  He received his undergraduate degree in History Education from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina.  Attorney Tyler is a graduate of the University of Akron with a Master of Arts Degree in Education Administration, a Master of Public Administration and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Akron School of Law.  While at the University of Akron School of Law he served on the distinguished trial team.

Charles Tyler, Sr. is a compassionate, dedicated attorney with offices in Akron Ohio.  He focuses his practice in the areas of criminal defense, bankruptcy, family law, personal injury and IRS 501(C) 3 Organizations.  He is admitted to practice in the State of Ohio.  In addition to his law degree he holds certificates in general and divorce mediation.  Attorney Tyler has served as a Summit County Prosecutor and has worked as an insurance defense attorney for State Auto Insurance Company.

Pastor Tyler is a former member and former president of the Richmond Heights Local School Board.   He is a member of the Council for Economic Opportunity of Greater Cleveland, Ohio State Bar Association Family Law Committee, Ohio State Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, the Ohio Bar Association, Akron Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is a former member of the National Education Association and the National Education Association, Resolutions Committee and a former member of the Ohio School Boards Association and the National School Boards Association.  He is a member of the Council of School Attorneys.

Pastor Tyler is the former pastor of St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Zion (A.M.E Zion) Church in New Castle, Pennsylvania, and the former pastor of Beth-El A.M.E. Zion Church in Cleveland, Ohio.  He is a former  pastor of the First A.M.E. Zion Church in Columbus, Ohio and the Presiding Elder of the Trinidad and Tobago District. He is currently the pastor of Wesley Temple AME Zion Church, Akron, Ohio.  He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated.

He is married to Mrs. Shannon Tyler and they are the proud parents of Charles Jr., Aaron, and Morgan.
